Biographies and grave information
This guide introduces selected biographies and graves connected with Trinitatis Cemetery, including Caspar David Friedrich and Carl Gustav Carus. It is not a complete account of the people buried at the cemetery.
Locating the graves
The map below marks the graves of Caspar David Friedrich and Carl Gustav Carus. Open the relevant point for orientation and keep any available section, row and grave number with you for the final approach.
The embedded map on this page contains only precisely located graves from the selection. The general cemetery map adds entrances and other orientation points; those points are not grave references.
Images for recognition
No grave or memorial photograph is shown for the selected people. Rely on the exact grave reference from Administration of Dresden’s Elias, Trinitatis and Johannis cemeteries – Trinitatis cemetery office rather than on an assumed visual match.
Ask about another person
Send Administration of Dresden’s Elias, Trinitatis and Johannis cemeteries – Trinitatis cemetery office the full name, known life dates, possible spelling variants and an approximate burial period. Ask specifically for the section, row and grave number. Include Fiedlerstraße 1, 01307 Dresden so the enquiry identifies Trinitatis Cemetery when the operator manages more than one cemetery.
